Rich & Helena Muckle

Creative Arts Directors & LCSSM Pastors

This is Our Story

At a young age, both Rich and Helena were marked by the Presence of God and felt a strong call to full time ministry.  They met in Weirton, WV and served as youth pastors for 8 years before God called them to serve in Waynesville, NC.  Throughout their ministry,  they have seen many students encounter Jesus and be transformed by His power.   In 2018, God called them back to the Pittsburgh region to serve full time at Life Church.
Rich and Helena, along with their daughter Myla, serve as Creative Arts Directors as well as LCSSM Pastors at Life Church.  They have a strong desire to see people assume their role in the body of Christ and believe everyone is uniquely created to serve a purpose bigger than themselves.  Outside of church, Rich, Helena and Myla love to adventure in the outdoors and spend time with family.

Open Doors

As we enter into this new season a door is shutting on the Old. We stand at a threshold, an entrance of a new and open door. I'm reminded of the words of Jesus from the book of Revelation: "These  are the words of him who is holy and true, who holds the key of David....

Fasting is Feasting

Strength for Life Food is good. Not just delicious, good. God designed us to be sustained by the energy produced from what we put into our bodies. It is the way of the earth that when you receive something, you are to give back, to produce something with what you have...

Holding Fast to Hope

So when God desired to show more convincingly to the heirs of the promise the unchangeable character of his purpose, he guaranteed it with an oath, so that by two unchangeable things, in which it is impossible for God to lie, we who have fled for refuge might have...

Prepare the Ground for Rain

Hearts that are Ready for the Next Move of God "For the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the Lord as the waters cover the sea." - Habakkuk 2:14 I have never felt the anticipation of a new year like I experienced as the ball dropped and the...

Crafting Solitude

Yesterday I wrote about one of my favorite books, The Way of the Heart, by Henri Nouwen. In it, Nouwen advocates that we, as believers in a modern world that is full of distraction, emulate the Desert Fathers and Mothers. These fiery believers were the first to resist...

God of the Alone

One of the books that has shaped my prayer and fasting life more than any other is  The Way of the Heart, by Henry Nouwen. It's a skinny book (many of Nouwen's works are quick reads), but it is concentrated fire. In the book, Nouwen explores some of the fundamental...

Distracted from God’s Purposes

As we take time to fast and pray at the beginning of the year, it’s easy to focus on what is missing. It’s easy to focus on the pangs of hunger and the weakness of our bodies. But let’s not increase our distractedness, rather let us focus on what really matters....
